Cut and the hospital? Purpose and accident ?

Does it take longer for a person who's cut themselves (on purpose but doesn't lose a lot of blood) to deep to get out of the hospital (because suicidal reasons)? Rather than a person who let's say fell and cut his leg (by accident but doesn't lose a lot of blood) and they both need stitches. Would it take the person who did it on purpose to get out longer. I've been in this situation before (first one) but yea I've never been cut by mistake. So I'm wondering if it would take longer for a person who did it on purpose or one that was an accident? Oh and for the one by accident I'm trying to basically say they just stitch him/her up and let them go and for the cutting on purpose they stitch him/her up and make them stay? Sorry if it's confusing it's a dumb question but I've always been curious . (Idontknow if this is in the right category)
