Does your cat respond to whistling or the "He-re kitty kitty kitty kitty" better?

Our cat rarely respond at all when we call them unless they are outside. When in the house they only respond to their dog. And the only reason thay repond outside is because they know that if they don't come they will be left outside for the night with the coyotes.
